NewsChronicle Confirms Involvement with the New Intuit Power Launch Program for QuickBooks 2003 and First Developer ConferenceMOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - July 24, 2002 - Chronicle Software is pleased to confirm its participation in the Intuit Developer Conference, themed "How to make it big with small business." The collaborative forum for developers will be held on November 13-14 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, Burlingame, Calif. Keynote speakers are expected to include Pierre Omidyar, founder and chairman of eBay; David Farina, research principal and head of technology research at William Blair & Company; and Scott Cook, chairman of the executive committee at Intuit. The announcement of the conference comes just as the Intuit Developer Network has reached two significant milestones: the QuickBooks software development kit (SDK) has been downloaded more than 50,000 times and has resulted in over 110 integrated applications, available to QuickBooks Pro and Premier 2002 users at the QuickBooks Solutions Marketplace. "The QuickBooks Solutions Marketplace is the most significant source of qualified sales leads for our QuickBooks integrated products," says Steve Manchester, president of Chronicle Technologies Inc, a provider of business management systems for small and mid-sized service businesses. "As an Intuit Developer Network member, we were able to take advantage of the member resources to quickly develop and market our application to a pre-qualified user base. The integration levels that we have achieved between QuickBooks and Chronicle has allowed our customers to achieve margin improvements in excess of 15%. We look forward to even more success with QuickBooks 2003." Intuit today also launched the QuickBooks 2003 Power Launch, a new program that gives developers the opportunity to be among the first to develop and market their applications for the launch of QuickBooks 2003 later this year. The program provides early access to the beta of Version 2.0 of the QuickBooks SDK. In addition, these select members will be invited to participate in QuickBooks 2003 Launch PR opportunities and to showcase their available applications during the fall developer conference. "As part of the 'Right For My Business' strategy, Intuit has made the Developer Network a major priority, building an ever-increasing number of tools and programs available for the developer community to help them become even more successful," said Esther Kruijver, director of the Intuit Developer Network. "Together with developers, we provide small businesses with more choices for industry-specific and general business applications to help them run their businesses."
