ServiceMaster grants Preferred Vendor Status to Chronicle

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - October 8, 2001 - Chronicle Software learned yesterday it has been granted Preferred Vendor Status by the home office of ServiceMaster. The Preferred Vendor status will make it possible for Chronicle to engage in discussions on a strategic level with ServiceMaster to expand the adoption and use of its software within the growing ServiceMaster franchise network. Dave Guntert, Vice President of Information Systems, states "Chronicle has steadily grown in acceptance by many of our leading disaster restoration and contracting franchises. The feedback we hear from these businesses using the product is excellent, and we are pleased to now have the opportunity to work more closely with Chronicle".

Steve Manchester, President and founder of Chronicle, states "we believe our product has delivered measurable and significant financial and operational improvements to a number of the most respected ServiceMaster franchises in the nation. These companies have begun to establish best practices that are in line with ServiceMaster's Six Sigma initiative through the use of Chronicle".

The Preferred Vendor status will provide Chronicle with the opportunity to participate in the various ServiceMaster regional and national conferences. Chronicle intends to make its Chronicle 1-2-3 seminar series a cornerstone of its participation at these conferences. Chronicle 1-2-3 is a series of seminars that focus on profit and operational improvement techniques for small to medium contractor services businesses using Chronicle. Chronicle 1-2-3 topics include:

  • Managing a collection effort
  • Managing the billing process
  • Activity based budgeting and job costing
  • Structuring and managing an effective labor bonus program
  • Managing a business based communications effort
  • Document management by job, by department, by person
  • Implementing a human resource file and calendar for your employees

As a Preferred Vendor Chronicle will also be looking to work more closely with regional management to provide consolidated reporting capabilities that will deliver operational and financial results real time for those businesses that use Chronicle. Tom LeDonne, Market Manager, states "my ability to review job information on line will improve the quality and value of the advice and support I provide to my constituents on a daily basis".
