Mission

The management problems facing small business owners or managers are very similar to those of larger enterprises. Each requires employing multiple specialties in the proper sequence to complete multiple projects. Chronicle began with the idea of solving a small business dilemma: Fulfill the management and operational needs of a small business with a tool that is affordable, yet virtually indistinguishable in terms of functionality from the high-end enterprise applications used by major corporations. Solve the dilemma and you will get the business owners' and managers' attention.

How it started

Chronicle was founded in January 2000 in Rancho Cucamonga, California as a privately held, venture-funded web enabled small business enterprise software application designed primarily for commercial and residential contracting services businesses. The inspiration for the business was an interest in commercially selling a software application originally developed for the ServiceMaster disaster restoration franchise located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Chronicle is specifically designed to support the information and business process needs of small to medium contractor services businesses. With Chronicle all functional elements of the business, from job costing and labor analysis to scheduling and accounts receivable are managed with one seamless application. With Chronicle the productivity of everyone in the organization, from the owner to the clerical and field staff, increases. The product is easy to use and cost savings begin to appear quickly after implementation as staff begin to benefit from the use of a Web based centralized database that contains all of the project, customer, subcontractor and related communications and documents files for every job, active or closed. Chronicle works seamlessly with many of the most popular accounting packages and other productivity tools, and integrates relevant data from these applications in a single database, which eliminates the time consuming tasks of searching for information in multiple places and entry of the same data multiple times.
